Locust Walk University

Our annual onboarding and training program sets both new undergraduate hires and all team members hired in the past 12 months up for success to learn what they don’t teach you in school. From finance, accounting and modeling to how to executive various deal types and strategy and market analytics projects, our three-week curriculum is fast paced, taught by Locust Walk team members and a great way to set our newest team members up for success.

Mentorship Model

Mentorship is an important part of both firm and individual success. Our goal is to create the next generation of leaders at Locust Walk both on the deal team and operations teams. We have experienced executives’ mentor each person on the team providing actionable feedback, coaching, advice and support to aid in the growth journey.

Locust Walk Cafe

One of our five core values, Enjoy the Ride, also means that we enjoy each other’s company. Each week we hold an hour-long get together to either celebrate the many holidays, birthdays, successes and have fun over hors d’oeuvre and a themed drink. This is one of the things the team most looks forward to on a weekly basis.

Locust Walk Weekend

All team members from around the globe gathered in Boston to celebrate our 10-year anniversary. We focused on learning and growing as a team including an Outward Bound experience, Improv Asylum culture building, smaller interoffice dinners and a group BBQ at the Managing Partner’s home. This took place over the weekend during Locust Walk University, so we could integrate the new members of the team and build long-term trusting relationships.

Quarterly Team Meetings

As part of our Open and Courageous Communication and Growth Mindset values, we share with the whole team how the firm is performing, celebrate successes that quarter, what lessons we’ve learned, and how to improve as an organization. Everyone has an opportunity to ask questions and help shape our future together.
